Phantoms Kick Off 3-Game Road Week Wednesday in Utica

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, have signed forward Joe Rehkamp to a PTO (professional try-out).

A 24-year-old forward from Plymouth, Minnesota, Rehkamp is currently in his first professional season and has registered three goals, seven assists, 10 points and 17 penalty minutes in 18 games with the Reading Royals of the ECHL this year. Before staring his pro career, the 5’11”, 185-pound forward spent four seasons at St. Cloud State University where he compiled eight goals, 23 assists, 31 points and 44 penalty minutes across 117 games with the Huskies. Rehkamp will wear #44 with Lehigh Valley.

The Phantoms return to action this Wednesday, December 2 when Lehigh Valley kicks off a three-game road week with a trip to Utica for a 7:00 p.m. showdown with the Comets. The Phantoms are then in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday, December 4 before closing their week in Hershey on Saturday, December 5. The Phantoms then return to PPL Center on Wednesday, December 9 when they kick off a five-game home stand with a visit from the Hershey Bears. In the midst of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms are coming off their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
