Phantoms Continue Holiday Home Stand Wednesday vs. WB/Scranton

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have reassigned defenseman Jesper Pettersson from the Phantoms to the Reading Royals of the ECHL.
A 21-year-old blueliner from Stockholm, Sweden, Pettersson is in the midst of his second professional season and has registered one goal, one assist, two points and eight penalty minutes in 14 games with Lehigh Valley this year. During his first pro campaign, the 5’8″, 192-pound defender registered two goals, five assists, seven points and 35 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Phantoms. Pettersson was a seventh-round selection (198th overall) by the Flyers in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
The Phantoms continue their holiday home stand with a pair of games at PPL Center this week. First, on Wednesday, December 16, Lehigh Valley welcomes the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to downtown Allentown for Military Appreciation Night. Then, on Friday, December 18, the Phantoms host the Hershey Bears in a game presented by PPL. Friday’s game features a Youth Winter Hat Giveaway presented by PPL Corporation to the first 2,500 kids 14 and under. In the midst of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms are coming off their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
