Thanks to the incredible efforts of the entire staff, and the loyalty and passion from the Lehigh Valley fans, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms were honored with three awards at the 2019 AHL Team Business Meetings presented by ExteNet Systems, being held in Charlotte, N.C..
The Phantoms Bully Busters Unite program was awarded the Most Unique Community Relations Promotion for the 2018-19 season. Bully Busters Unite is the Lehigh Valley Phantoms anti-bullying campaign featuring the coolest mascot in school, meLVin. Bully Busters Unite introduces elementary-aged students to four helpful tips for dealing with situations of bullying in a fun and engaging way.
“We are honored to be recognized by the American Hockey League for the Bully Busters program. The program allows us to give back to our community and make an impact on students across the entire Leigh Valley,” Chris Porreca, Executive Vice President said.
The Lehigh Valley Group Sales department was rewarded for their hard work as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Group Sales Manager, Trevor Herrick finished third in group ticket sales for the Eastern Conference during the 2018-19 season.
Trevor started with the Phantoms as a Sales Intern back in 2013 when the team was in Adirondack and has worked his way up to a management position in Lehigh Valley.
“We are extremely proud of Trevor and his dedication to our organization. This award is a culmination of hard work, great relationship building with group leaders across the entire Lehigh Valley. Congratulations Trevor from all of us at the Phantoms.” Porreca said.
In addition, the Phantoms Corporate Partnership department was one of just six teams in the American Hockey League to be celebrated for achieving an 83% corporate cash account renewal rate during the 2018-19 season.
