Goaltender Mark Dekanich Recalled to Phantoms

Division Semifinals Continue with Game 4 Saturday at Hershey

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, are pleased to announce they have recalled from loan goaltender Mark Dekanich from the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

A 30-year-old netminder from North Vancouver, British Columbia, Dekanich spent the majority of the season with the Royals where he compiled a 21-12-1 overall record to go along with a 3.04 goals-against average and 0.910 save percentage. He was sensational in Reading’s first round loss to the Brampton Beast where he registered a 2-2-2 mark coupled with a 1.62 goals-against average and 0.954 save percentage.

Dekanich appeared in seven Calder Cup Playoff outings in 2010 with the Milwaukee Admirals where he went 3-4 with a 2.79 goals-against average and 0.909 save percentage.

The Phantoms continue their division semifinals series with the rival Hershey Bears this Saturday, April 29 with Game 4 set for a 7:00 p.m. start time at Giant Center in Hershey. The Bears currently lead the best-of-five series 2-1.
