Check-In with Phantoms Community Partners

See How You Can Help Support Our Community Partners

We want to thank all of our wonderful community partners for all their support of the Phantoms. With the COVID-19 pandemic, just like everybody else, these community partners have been greatly affected and are in need of our help. Many of you have seen those organizations year-after-year around PPL Center at Phantoms games. It is especially difficult during this time for these organizations who are so dedicated to helping other people, with very little ability for community outreach, special events, or fundraising opportunities. Please see below a list of our community partners, what their mission is and how you can help them today! We thank them, and you, for the support!

“The main goal of the American Cancer Society is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.”

How Long Have They Been Working With Phantoms:

“We have worked with the Phantoms for a number of years, but in a much larger capacity for the past 3 years.”

Favorite Part of Working with Phantoms:

“My favorite part is working with the staff on different and innovative ideas as to how we can both become bigger and better organizations. The personal touch that is provided is second-to-none and we love our partnership.”

How has Partnership with the Phantoms helped:

“Not only has our partnership helped financially, it has also helped in a large way with awareness. With the help of the Phantoms, we are able to provide free rides to treatment for local patients as well as Hope Lodge locations where patients can stay for free during treatment.”

How Can Phantoms Fans Currently Help:

“Outside of being able to make a donation to our mission, we are always looking for volunteers for our event committees. We work around the clock to make sure that our patients have access to the absolute best care throughout their cancer journey.”

Any Upcoming Events or Fundraisers:

“Our annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event will be going virtual and drive-thru on October 17 at ArtsQuest and our Real Men Wear Pink campaign is starting to take shape for the month of October and beyond.”

Anything else They Want Phantoms Fans to Know:

“Over the years, we have truly enjoyed our interactions on game nights with all of the fans. It has been from amazing supporters like you that we are able to provide life-saving options for local cancer patients so that nobody ever has to fight alone. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support.”

How Can Phantoms Fans Currently Help:

“Right now more than ever missions like ours are critical. We are in the forefront with Covid-19 relief, we are addressing alarming issues like people in our community not seeking medical attention for heart and stroke symptoms due to fear of hospitals, and we have a life-saving responsibility to continue to promote awareness, health and wellness. Doing your research, educating yourself and reaching out to our local office are all great ways you can help! Heart.org is a very easy to navigate website and our local office (while currently working remote) is always available by email abby.silfies@heart.org or by calling 484-245-6268. The American Heart Associate also has a limited number of Phantoms Autographed pucks remaining. If interested in purchasing a player autographed puck you should also email abby.silfies@heart.org or call 484-245-6268.”

Our Gift of Life Nights with the Phantoms have allowed us to share our life-saving mission with thousands of fans, as well as honoring local donor heroes and sharing inspiring stories about transplant recipients. How Long Have They Been Working With Phantoms:

“3 years!  It has been a pleasure working with Trevor and his team.”

Favorite Part of Working with Phantoms:

“The Phantoms Organization is very accepting of our athletes and our families.  They provide opportunities for our athletes to attend games and offer a sensory room through the partnership with IU 20 for our athletes to use during the game if needed.”

How has Partnership with the Phantoms helped:

“The Phantoms partnership has created an event that is inclusive for all members of the community and specifically to people with disabilities.  Many of our families may have been hesitant to take their children to an event in the community worried about how their child would manage all the excitement, loud noises, etc. in a crowded event like a hockey game.  The Phantoms partnership has led to creating an environment that supports children with disabilities, providing our children with an area to take a break if they become overwhelmed with the experience.  Many families that I have spoken to, would have never taken the change to come to a hockey game.  With this partnership they took the chance and their experience was amazing for them and their children.  They now feel a sense of belonging to the hockey community.  ”

How Can Phantoms Fans Currently Help:

“Continue to spread the word about people with disabilities and embrace inclusion.  The more we can create opportunities for our families and people with disabilities, the better we are as a community respecting all individuals.”

Any Upcoming Events or Fundraisers:

“We are having an online fundraiser from August 2-August 8!  Feel free to share our group!  Northampton County Special Olympics Virtual Raffle.

Anything else They Want Phantoms Fans to Know:

“Thank you for supporting people with disabilities and creating an environment of love and belonging.”
