September 22, 2018
The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced earlier today that they have again trimmed their training camp roster down by loaning five players to the Phantoms.
Defenseman T. J. Brennan and forwards Cole Bardreau, Phil Varone, Greg Carey and Radel Fazleev have all been assigned to Lehigh Valley.
Additionally, forward Danick Martel was claimed off of waivers by the Tampa Bay Lightning today. Martel played 199 games for the Phantoms amassing 68 goals and 52 assists for 120 points. Martel made his NHL debut this past season, appearing in four games with the Flyers.
A two-time winner of the Phantoms IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year Award, given to the player with the most outstanding contributions to the local community and charitable organizations, Martel joined the Phantoms at the tail end of the 2014-15 season. Over the course of three seasons with the Phantoms, the 23-year old had a hand in nearly every community outreach program from youth hockey to hospital visits.
Martel accepted a qualifying offer from the Flyers, on July 18, to stay with the organization during the 2018-19 season.
The fifth season of Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey is coming soon! Season tickets offering a wide range of benefits as well as 20-Game and 12-Game plans are available by calling the Phantoms at 610-224-GOAL (4625).
