Phantoms Return to PPL Center Tonight vs. Bridgeport

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, have returned on loan goaltender Martin Ouellette to the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

JustSports PhotographyA 24-year-old netminder from Saint-Hippolyte, Quebec, Ouellette is in his second professional season and produced a 5-3 overall mark in nine games with Lehigh Valley to go along with a 2.36 goals-against average and .933 save percentage. Prior to his return to the Royals, Ouellette started six straight games for the Phantoms and has been a key component to Lehigh Valley’s current five-game winning streak having registered a 1.00 goals-against average and .971 save percentage during the team’s recent surge.

In 30 appearances with Reading earlier in the year, the 6’1″, 185-pound netminder compiled a 17-9-3 record with a 2.07 goals-against average coupled with a .923 save percentage.

The red- hot Phantoms, who have outscored their opposition 18-5 during their five-game winning streak, return to action at PPL Center tonight, Saturday, April 9, for a 7:05 p.m. clash with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders. Tonight’s game is Faith Night, which features a post-game concert with Christian hip-hop artist Tedashii. Fans are also encouraged to help support the GIANT Canned Food Drive with all donations set to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley. In the midst of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms are coming off their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
