Red-Hot Phantoms Back at PPL Center This Friday & Saturday

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, have returned on loan forward Pavel Padakin to the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

JustSports PhotographyA 21-year-old winger from Kiev, Ukraine, Padakin is currently in his first professional season and has recorded one goal, five assists and six points in 31 games with the Phantoms this year. A 5’10”, 201-pound forward, he also produced six goals, eight assists and 14 points during an 18-game stint with the Royals earlier this season.

Before starting his professional career, Padakin spent three seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he amassed 76 goals, 71 assists and 147 points across 206 games with the Calgary Hitmen and Regina Pats.

With standings points in nine of their last 13 games overall, the red-hot Phantoms return to action at PPL Center with a pair of games this weekend. First, on Friday, February 26, the Hartford Wolf Pack, the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, invade downtown Allentown. Then, on Saturday, February 27, it’s meLVin’s Birthday Bash when the Utica Comets, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, come to PPL Center for a 7:05 p.m. tilt. In the midst of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms are coming off their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
