Transaction: Flyers Recall D Brandon Manning

Phantoms Continue Home Stand This Saturday, Sunday at PPL Center

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have recalled from loan defenseman Brandon Manning. This will be the fourth recall this season for Manning who has amassed three assists in 14 career NHL outings.

Manning1A 24-year-old blueliner from Prince George, British Columbia, Manning is currently second on Lehigh Valley’s roster and fourth among all AHL defenders in total scoring with 43 points. The Phantoms’ representative at the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic, he leads all AHL skaters with 25 power play points and is second in the league with 19 man-advantage assists.

Lehigh Valley continues its current home stand with two more tilts at PPL Center this weekend. The Phantoms return to action Saturday, March 28th when they welcome the rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins back to downtown Allentown. Saturday’s game is Faith Night featuring a post-game concert with best-selling Christian rock and worship band Kutless.

The home stand then wraps up Sunday, March 29th when Lehigh Valley welcomes the AHL-leading Manchester Monarchs, AHL affiliate of the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings, to PPL Center for the first and only time this season. Sunday’s game is another Legends Night as all fans in attendance will receive a FREE Collector’s Edition Poster spotlighting 1998 Calder Cup Champion and longtime Phantoms and Flyers goaltender Brian Boucher. Sunday’s contest also features a post-game skate with the Phantoms. Fans are encouraged to bring their skates to the game and take the ice with their favorite players following the conclusion of Sunday’s action.

In their 19th season of operation, the Phantoms are currently in the midst of their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 18 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
