Red-Hot Phantoms Look for 6th Straight Win Tonight in Bridgeport

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have recalled from loan forward Nick Cousins from Lehigh Valley.

JustSports PhotographyA 22-year-old center from Belleville, Ontario, Cousins currently leads all Phantoms and is tied for sixth among all AHL skaters in scoring with 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists). One of Lehigh Valley’s two representatives at the 2016 AHL All-Star Classic, he leads all Phantoms in assists (26), points (38), plus/minus (plus-13) and shots on goal (109). Cousins is also presently tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (four) and is tied for second among all Lehigh Valley skaters in power play points (13).

A third-round selection (68th overall) by Philadelphia in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Cousins has appeared in 15 previous NHL outings with the Flyers.

In the midst of a season-high five-game winning streak, Lehigh Valley returns to action with road tilts in Bridgeport and Hershey this Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6. In the midst of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms are coming off their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
