Top Rangers Prospects to Tangle with Flyers at PPL Center

New York Rangers general manager Chris Drury has announced the roster for the team’s Rookie Camp and upcoming Rookie Series games at PPL Center in Allentown this weekend.
The top, young talent for the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers will clash Friday at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday at 5:05 p.m. in the second Rookie Series between the two fierce NHL rivals.
The exciting group includes 20-year-old Brennan Othmann who was a first-round selection of the New York Rangers in 2021 and is considered one of the best prospects for the New York Rangers.. Othmann was teammates with Philadelphia’s Tyson Foerster and Elliot Desnoyers on the Canadian Gold Medal-winning team at the 2022 World Juniors tournament and is appearing in his second Rookie Series.
Many eyes will be watching goaltender Dylan Garand who built his game consistently as an AHL rookie last season wtth Hartford following a sensational Major Juniors career in the Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Blazers. Like Othmann, Garand also won Gold at the 2022 World Juniors.
Bryce McConnell-Barker is a 19-year-old from London, Ontario who was a Round 3 selection of the Rangers in 2022. He led the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League with 30 goals and 47 assists for 77 points last year.
Adam Sykora is a 19-year-old from Slovakia who was a second-round pick of the Rangers in 2022 and Matt Rempe is a gigantic 6’8″ forward who scored six goals as an AHL rookie with the Hartford Wolf Pack last season.
19-year-old Dylan Rooebroeck is making his Rangers debut this weekend after he was selected in the 2023 NHL Draft while a trio of 2022 Draft selections make their return to the Rookie Series: McConnell-Barker, Sykora and Maxim Barbashev.
The Rangers Rookie Team includes 12 players who were with the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack for part or all of last season.
The NHL returned to PPL Center last season with the debut of the Flyers vs. Rangers Rookie Series. Philadelphia won both games by scores of 2-1 (OT) and 5-1. Tyson Foerster finished Game 1 of the weekend with an overtime-winning goal on Friday night. Olle Lycksell scored a goal in each game and Noah Cates had a shorthanded goal while Sam Ersson made 36 saves as part of the high-energy hockey weekend.
The NHL returned to PPL Center last season with the debut of the Flyers vs. Rangers Rookie Series. Philadelphia won both games by scores of 2-1 (OT) and 5-1.

The NHL returns to PPL Center with the second annual Rookie Series on September 15 and 16. The Philadelphia Flyers take on the New York Rangers in a renewal of their great rivalry as the team’s top prospects square off for a pair of games in the Lehigh Valley.
