Friday’s tilt will be the third of 12 total meetings this season between the Phantoms and Penguins after Lehigh Valley claimed a 5-2 triumph in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on October 11th before the Penguins grabbed a 2-1 overtime win in Lehigh Valley on October 29th.

The Phantoms then return to the friendly confines of PPL Center on Saturday when they host Toronto. Lehigh Valley last played in its sparkling new home nearly two weeks ago when the Phantoms were handed a 4-2 setback against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Saturday’s showdown will be the first of two total meetings during the 2014-15 regular season between Lehigh Valley and Toronto and kicks off a five-game home stand for the Phantoms.

Last Week

Wednesday, November 5: Lehigh Valley Phantoms 3 – Worcester Sharks 4

Taylor Leier, Petr Straka and Brandon Alderson all scored for the Phantoms and Anthony Stolarz recorded 31 saves but it wasn’t quite enough as Lehigh Valley was handed a 4-3 defeat at the Worcester Sharks. Straka produced his first multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist while Leier netted his second career professional conversion.

Friday, November 7: Lehigh Valley Phantoms 3 – Manchester Monarchs 2

JustSports PhotographyRob Zepp registered a season-high 42 saves and Andrew Gordon chipped in a pair of goals as the Phantoms claimed a hard-fought 3-2 triumph at the Manchester Monarchs last Friday. The win was already Zepp’s fifth of the young season and featured a 15-save third period to seal the victory.

Taylor Leier also scored for Lehigh Valley who converted on the power play on the road yet again. The Phantoms boast the AHL’s seventh-best road power play (24.1 percent) and have converted seven man-advantage markers in seven road outings.

Saturday, November 8: Lehigh Valley Phantoms 0 – Portland Pirates 3

Lehigh Valley generated 27 total shots, including a team-high four from Brandon Manning, but Portland goaltender Mike McKenna was a brick wall leading the Pirates to a 3-0 win over the Phantoms. Rob Zepp turned in another impressive performance with his second-highest save total of the season (37 denials) while Lehigh Valley’s penalty kill successfully denied six of Portland’s seven power play opportunities.
