Flyers Recall G Stolarz, Phantoms Sign G Lotz to PTO

Phantoms Take on Rival Hershey Bears Tonight Inside PPL Center

November 23, 2018

Lehigh Valley, Pa. — The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have announced that they have recalled from loan goaltender Anthony Stolarz from the Phantoms. Subsequently, Lehigh Valley has signed goaltender Austin Lotz from the Reading Royals of the ECHL to a PTO.

Despite missing the majority of the 2017-18 season due to injury, Stolarz has now appeared in three games for the Phantoms this season.  He currently holds a 2-0-0 record with a 3.34 goals-against average and .889 save percentage.  This will be the first recall of the season for Stolarz, who played in seven NHL contests with the Flyers during the 2016-17 season in which he produced a record of 2-1-1 with a 2.07 GAA and a .928 save percentage.

A 23-year old out of St. Adolphe, Manitoba, Lotz is currently in his third professional campaign where he has appeared in two games for the Reading Royals.  Prior to the 2018-19 season, the 6’1″ netminder played in 55 games at the ECHL level — between the Rapid City Rush, Reading Royals and Jacksonville Icemen — in which he compiled a record of 22-26-1.

Prior to turning pro, Lotz spent four seasons with the Everett Silvertips, the same team that Phantoms goaltender Carter Hart played for during his time in the WHL.

Lotz will wear number 33 for the Phantoms and will be available for tonight’s game.

The Phantoms hit the ice tonight, November 23, when they take on the rival Hershey Bears inside of PPL Center in downtown Allentown.  Limited tickets for the contest remain, get yours online by clicking HERE.
