Phantoms Home Opener for 2016-17 Season Set for Saturday, October 15

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, are pleased to announce that individual game tickets for the 2016-17 season will go on sale Thursday, September 22 beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Tickets will be available online at pplcenter.com, by calling 610-347-TIXX [8499] or in-person at the PPL Center Box Office [701 Hamilton Street]. The PPL Center Box Office is open Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Phantoms 2016-17 campaign begins at home on Saturday, October 15 at 7:05 p.m. when Lehigh Valley welcomes the Springfield Thunderbirds, the new AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, to downtown Allentown. That contest kicks off a 38-game regular season barrage of hard-hitting, heart-pounding hockey action at PPL Center, which features 31 total weekend home games (15 Saturdays, 14 Fridays, 2 Sundays) along with six rivalry showdowns each with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) and Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals).

Get an early look at this year’s team on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8 when the Phantoms welcome the Charlotte Checkers, the AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes. Both games start at 7:05 p.m. at PPL Center.

The Phantoms are coming off their 20th Anniversary Season and second campaign in the Lehigh Valley playing at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
