Matt Brown and Parker Gahagen to Reading

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that goaltender Felix Sandström has been sent to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on an NHL conditioning loan. Additionally, the Phantoms have loaned forward Matt Brown and goaltender Parker Gahagen to the Reading Royals of the ECHL.
Sandström, 26, played in seven games with the Phantoms last year on a conditioning loan from Philadelphia. He went 4-1-2, 2.39, .911 with Lehigh Valley. He also played in 20 games with the Flyers going 3-12-3, 3.72, .880
The 6’2″ goaltender from Stockholm, Sweden was a Round 3 selection of the Flyers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Sandström has played in 62 career games with the Phantoms beginning in the 2018-19 season going a combined 26-22-10, 2.87, .904. He also has 25 career NHL games with the Flyers and 25 games with the Reading Royals of the ECHL in 2019-20 for a combined total of 114 pro games in North America.
Brown, 24, is a Wood Ridge, NJ native who has played in three games with the Phantoms recording one assist. He signed with Lehigh Valley at the end of last season upon the completion of his four-year collegiate career at Boston University. As a senior, Brown scored 16-31-47 for the Terriers in 37 games. In his four years of NCAA hockey, the 5’9″ forward has scored 37 goals with 64 assists for 101 points in 115 games.
Gahagen, 30, has played in three games with the Phantoms this season going 2-1-0, 2.34, .911. His win on October 15 against the Belleville Senators was his first in the AHL in 2.5 years. The Army Black Knights product has played in 15 career AHL games going 7-5-0, 3.12, .891 and also 100 games in the ECHL going 58-26-5, 2.30, .920. Last year, with the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL, he played 33 games with an 18-8-3 record and 2.66, .912.
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are back in action on Wednesday night at the Hershey Bears and will return to PPL Center on Friday night against the Hartford Wolf Pack on Swiftie Takeover Night.
