Phantoms Partner With Valley Youth House for Teddy Bear Toss

First Lehigh Valley Teddy Bear Toss Set for Saturday, December 6th

December 3, 2014

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, are pleased to announce they have partnered with Valley Youth House for the team’s Teddy Bear Toss, which will take place during the December 6th game at PPL Center. The Teddy Bear Toss, which is presented this year by Dan’s Camera City, is an annual Phantoms promotion where fans are encouraged to bring new teddy bears to the game and throw them onto the ice when the Phantoms score their first goal. The bears are then donated to a local charitable organization. For their first season in the Lehigh Valley, the Phantoms will be donating all teddy bears to the Valley Youth House.

Dan's Camera City logo“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Valley Youth House for our first Teddy Bear Toss here in the Lehigh Valley,” said Phantoms executive vice president Chris Porreca. “This is a promotion we look forward to every year not just because it’s fun to throw things onto the ice but also because it has a huge impact on our community during the holiday season.”

“Every day, Valley Youth House is a first line of defense for troubled young people and their families,” said Valley Youth House Director of Development Christina Sschoemaker. “Over 54 well-researched, outcome-driven programs enable youth to work through challenges to establish and pursue successful life paths. Our growth, positive outcomes, and legacy of excellence would not be possible without the help and support of countless generous donors and community advocates. We extend our sincere thanks to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for choosing Valley Youth House as the beneficiary of the first Teddy Bear Toss, and for their support in helping us expand our reach to the most vulnerable at-risk children and youth.”
