Transactions: Andrew MacDonald Recalled by Flyers, Maxim Lamarche Reassigned to Phantoms

Lehigh Valley Kicks Off 5-Game Home Stand Wednesday vs. Hershey

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have recalled from loan defenseman Andrew MacDonald and have reassigned defenseman Maxim Lamarche from the Reading Royals of the ECHL to the Phantoms.

JustSports PhotographyA 29-year-old defender from Judique, Nova Scotia, MacDonald currently leads all Phantoms blueliners in scoring with 13 points (goal, 12 assists) through 23 games. In the midst of his ninth professional campaign, the 6’1″, 204-pound defenseman boasts 372 career NHL games on his professional resume during which he’s amassed 19 goals, 86 assists, 105 points and 196 penalty minutes. In 58 games with the Flyers a year ago, MacDonald produced two goals, 10 assists, 12 points and 41 penalty minutes.

A 23-year-old blueliner from Laval, Quebec, Lamarche is in his third professional season and has registered four goals, six assists and 10 points in 21 games with the Royals this year. A 6’3″, 218-pound defender, he compiled nine goals, 23 assists and 32 points in 60 games with Reading last season while also adding an assist in seven games with the Phantoms. In 19 career AHL outings, Lamarche has recorded two assists and 11 penalty minutes.

The home stand continues on Friday, December 11 with a t-shirt giveaway to the first 8,500 fans in attendance when the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins make their first stop in downtown Allentown this year. Then, on Saturday, December 12, it’s the Teddy Bear Toss presented by Dan’s Camera City along with a Post-Game Skate with Phantoms Players presented by Big Woody’s Sports Bar & Restaurant. In the midst of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms are coming off their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
