Transaction: Kevin Sundher Signed to PTO

Phantoms in Hershey Today for Rivalry Showdown with Bears

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, have signed forward Kevin Sundher to a PTO (professional try-out).

A 23-year-old forward from Surrey, British Columbia, Sundher is in the midst of his fourth professional season and has registered three goals, three assists and six points in four games with the Reading Royals this season. He split time last season with the Rochester Americans (AHL) (31 games, 1 goal, 4 assists, 5 points, 12 penalty minutes) and Elmira Jackals (ECHL) (9 games, 1 goal, 3 assists, 4 points, 2 penalty minutes).

Sundher comes to Lehigh Valley with 129 career AHL games (all with Rochester) on his professional resume having compiled 11 goals, 27 assists and 38 points during that time.

Before starting his professional career, he spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he amassed 94 goals, 158 assists and 252 points across 273 games with the Chilliwack Bruins, Victoria Royals and Brandon Wheat Kings from 2007 to 2012.

The Phantoms then return to PPL Center this Friday, November 6 when the Bears invade downtown Allentown for the first time this season. In the midst of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms are coming off their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
