Phantoms Announce Star Wars Night on Sunday, January 10

The Force Awakens This January at PPL Center

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Force will be strong with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms when Star Wars Night comes to PPL Center on Sunday, January 10. In conjunction with the release of the highly-anticipated film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Phantoms will be celebrating one of the most beloved movie franchises of all time during their 5:05 p.m. clash with the Binghamton Senators.

StarWars_logo_Theatrical_RGBAs part of the celebration, fans will have the opportunity to meet and take pictures with some of the most iconic heroes and villains in film history with a special appearance from the 501st Garrison, the definitive group of Star Wars costumed fans. Fans are also encouraged to come to the game dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters. The game will also feature video clips and music from across the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens shattered box office records last weekend earning roughly $238 million in North America and more than $500 million in worldwide ticket sales.

The Phantoms return from the AHL’s holiday break this Saturday, December 26, when they welcome the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, to PPL Center for the first time this season. Saturday’s game is another “20 Years of Phantoms” night with the second of four commemorative poster giveaways free to the first 3,000 fans in attendance. In the midst of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms are coming off their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
