Nolan Patrick & Shayne Gostisbehere to Appear in Flyers in the Valley at PPL Center

Flyers Face New York Islanders Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, are pleased to announce that forward Nolan Patrick and defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere will be among the Flyers set to participate in Wednesday’s Flyers in the Valley presented by Velaspan. In just the third-ever NHL game to be played in the Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia will face off against the New York Islanders beginning at 7:05 p.m.

The complete rosters for both the Flyers and Islanders will be released Wednesday.

The second overall selection in the 2017 NHL Draft, Patrick is coming off an impressive career with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he compiled 92 goals, 113 assists and 205 total points in just 163 total games. He finished tied for third among all WHL skaters in assists (61) and was fifth in overall scoring (102 points) during the 2015-16 season and averaged an impressive 1.39 points per-game last year (46 points in 33 games).

A finalist for the 2016 Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie and a member of the 2015-16 NHL All-Rookie Team, Gostisbehere has been a dynamic force on Philadelphia’s back end having tallied 24 goals, 61 assists and 85 total points through his first 142 games with the Flyers. He was the first rookie in NHL history to record four overtime goals in a season and he tallied at least one point in 15 straight outings from January 19, 2016 to February 20, 2016. Gostisbehere began his professional career with the Phantoms and tallied two goals, 13 assists and 15 points in just 19 games with Lehigh Valley.

And fans can catch their first glimpse of the 2017-18 Phantoms during a pair of preseason games at PPL Center on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30 against the Charlotte Checkers.
