Phantoms Back in Action at PPL Center Tonight vs. Portland

March 7, 2015

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have recalled from loan defenseman Brandon Manning.

JustSports PhotographyA 24-year-old blueliner from Prince George, British Columbia, Manning has produced 10 goals, 32 assists, 42 points and 116 penalty minutes in 54 games in Lehigh Valley this season. This will be the third NHL call up this season for the 6’2″, 205-pound defender who notched an assist in three games with the Flyers earlier this season and has compiled three assists in 13 career NHL outings.

As a result of the transaction, the All-Star blueliner will be unavailable for the Phantoms’ showdown at PPL Center this evening with the Portland Pirates. Manning will be available for Philadelphia tomorrow when the Flyers face off against the New Jersey Devils.

Manning currently leads all AHL skaters in power play points (24) and ranks second among all AHL defenders in total scoring with 42 points. He’s produced more shots on goal to date (177) than any AHL defenseman and ranks second among all Phantoms in scoring at the time of his call up.
