IIHF World Championship Update

The 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is set to wrap up this Sunday with a number of former Phantoms players still in the mix for championship contention.  Through 11 days, many of the teams have already played seven contests in the 16-team, preliminary round and only eight teams, the top four from each group, will qualify for the Quarterfinals that begin on Thursday.  Sitting in the top four of Group A are Finland, Canada, Germany and the United States while at the top of Group B are Russia, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Switzerland.

The nine players who have spent time with the Phantoms franchise that are currently playing for their respective countries over in Slovakia have a combined 784 games played in a Phantoms uniform to go along with 85 combined goals and 161 combined assists for a total of 246 points.  Find a breakdown of each player, along with their highlights from the tournament, below.
