Phantoms Charities contributes to Downtown Allentown every year to continuously enhance the revitalization of Allentown – the city it calls home. From a playground at Sheridan Elementary School and Anna Mae Hays Elementary School in Allentown School District to the Urban Greenway, a fitness loop connecting the Downtown to parks and greenspace, Phantoms Charities leaves a lasting mark on the community in meaningful ways.
The Phantoms Charities, presented by Air Products, Urban Greenway is a fitness loop that connects downtown Allentown to its lush parks and greenspaces.
Unveiled and dedicated on July 24, 2019, the project was designed as an effort to both encourage and support a healthy and active lifestyle which fits in line with the mission of Phantoms Charities. With both a 2-mile and 1-mile option, the trails were funded by Phantoms Charities and will remain as a contribution to further revitalize downtown Allentown.
The new Urban Greenway features several new park benches wrapped with artwork created by Allentown School District students as well as the colorful footprints of meLVin, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms mascot, and various maps along the trail to help guide walkers and runners.
