Transactions: Gaucher Rejoins Phantoms

Phantoms Travel to Rochester Tomorrow

October 29, 2026

Allentown, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers have assigned forward Jacob Gaucher to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Gaucher, 25, returns to the Phantoms roster after being recalled to Philadelphia on Tuesday ahead of the Flyers’ matchup against the Washington Capitals. Gaucher suited up for Tuesday’s contest after also appearing in three games with the Flyers last week, marking his third consecutive season earning a recall to the NHL club.

In seven games with Lehigh Valley this season, Gaucher has recorded eight points (4G, 4A). The fourth-year Phantom has appeared in 204 career games with Lehigh Valley, totaling 98 points (52G, 46A) over parts of four seasons.

He is tied with Olle Lycksell for seventh all-time in goals by a Lehigh Valley player and also recently became the 15th ever to appear in 200 games with Lehigh Valley. In the 2025-26 season, he also became only the third Lehigh Valley player to record 20 or more goals in a season joining Danick Martel and Greg Carey. This year, he became the first player in Lehigh Valley history to score the first goal of the season two different times. He has recorded two hat tricks in his career.

The 6’3″ right-shooting center from Longueuil, Quebec has played in twelve career games with the Philadelphia Flyers including four games last season. Gaucher signed a two-year contract with the Flyers on December 12, 2024 and made his NHL debut on February 2, 2025 with the Flyers at Colorado. He re-signed with the Flyers on a one-year contract on June 5, 2026.

Gaucher played parts of five seasons in the Quebec Maritimes (Major) Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with Baie-Comeau (2021-22) and Val-d’Or (2018-21) appearing in 242 games, scoring 65-76-141. He is the older brother of Nathan Gaucher of the Anaheim Ducks and San Diego Gulls. His father, Yannick Gaucher, is Assistant General Manager of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL.

The Phantoms travel to Rochester on Friday, October 30 for a 7:05 p.m. matchup against the Americans. Lehigh Valley returns to PPL Center on Sunday, November 1 at 3:05 p.m. against the Providence Bruins for Haunted on Hamilton, featuring pumpkin painting, trick-or-treating on the concourse, and a Popcorn Bucket Giveaway presented by Gruber.
