Transactions: Bump Assigned to Phantoms

Berard and Perets Loaned to Reading

Allentown, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers have loaned forward Alex Bump to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, according to General Manager Daniel Briere.

Additionally, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms have loaned forward Brady Berard and goaltender Yaniv Perets to the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

Bump, 22, has played in three games with the Flyers this season and also played in 17 games with Philadelphia last year scoring 5-4-9 while also registering two goals in six postseason games. He made his NHL debut on March 7, 2026 and scored his first goal in that same game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Bump thrived in his rookie season with Lehigh Valley scoring 11-15-26 in 36 games. He had joined the Phantoms at the end of the 2024-25 season immediately after winning the National Championship at the Frozen Four with Western Michigan. The Prior Lake, Minnesota native was a fifth-round selection of the Flyers in 2022.

Berard, 22, is beginning his pro career after four NCAA seasons at Providence College and Boston College. The younger brother of Laval Rocket forward Brett Berard scorer 12-10-22 in 132 career NCAA games. A 6’1″ left shooter from East Greenwich, RI, Berard is the son of Stonehill College head coach David Berard.

Perets, 26, played in five games for the Phantoms last season going 2-3-0, 2.71, .905 while recording his first career AHL shutout on April 18 at the Charlotte Checkers. He played in 27 games with Reading going 14-8-4, 2.84, .910. The National Champion at Quinnipiac University in 2023 is entering his fourth professional season.

A 6’2″ native of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, Perets has played in nine career AHL games with Chicago and Lehigh Valley going 3-5-1, 3.27, .880 while also appearing in two NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes. He has played in 88 career AHL games with Norfolk, Bloomington and Reading going 44-31-8, 2.82, .906.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms return to action this weekend with a pair of games at PPL Center hosting the Cleveland Monsters on Saturday, October 10 at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, October 11 at 1:05 p.m. Saturday Night Hockey Live followed by all kinds of Whackadoo Fun on Bluey Day are the featured promotions of the weekend.
