As Executive Vice President of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey team, Chris Porreca oversees all aspects of the Phantoms front office.
Hired in 2009 as the team transitioned from Philadelphia to Glens Falls, N.Y., Chris began as the team’s Director of Corporate Partnerships where he cultivated and fostered mutually beneficial relationships between the Phantoms and Glens Falls business community.
After two seasons, Chris was promoted to his current role of Executive Vice President in which he has served for each of the last five seasons. In this capacity, he oversees all aspects of the team’s business operations, including tickets sales, corporate partnerships and game day operations, with a particular emphasis on the team’s marketing efforts across the Lehigh Valley throughout the year.
Before joining the Phantoms, Chris spent nearly two years as the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Green Mountain College. Prior to that, he worked with Special Olympics New York over a four-year period first as Director of Development and then as Director of Competition. During that time, he had the honor of joining Team USA at the Special Olympics World Games in Shanghai, China.
Along with his wife, Anne, and their two sons, Owen and Liam, Chris moved to the Lehigh Valley prior to the team’s Inaugural Season (2014-15). An active member of the Lehigh Valley community, he serves as a board member with Habitat for Humanity Lehigh Valley and can often be found at Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem either watching his sons as members of Phantoms Youth Hockey or hitting the frozen surface himself.
A graduate of Hartwick College, Chris grew up in Shelburne, Vermont and was a ski racer growing up. He played Division I soccer at Hartwick College and followed that by playing semi-pro soccer for several seasons.
