PHANTOMS TO OPEN CALDER CUP PLAYOFFS AGAINST ALBANY
Philadelphia Meets River Rats In East Division Semifinals Starting Wednesday
PHILADELPHIA – As a result of Saturday night’s action in the American Hockey League, the Philadelphia Phantoms are now assured of the second seed and will face the third seeded Albany River Rats in the best-of-seven East Division Semifinals. The series will open this Wednesday, April 16 at Albany’s Times Union Center.
The schedule for the series is as follows:
Game 1: Wednesday, April 16 – Phantoms at Albany, 7:00
Game 2: Friday, April 18 – Albany at Phantoms, 7:05 (Wachovia Center)
Game 3: Sunday, April 20 – Albany at Phantoms, 5:05 (Wachovia Center)
Game 4: Tuesday, April 22 – Phantoms at Albany, 7:00
*Game 5: Thursday, April 24 – Phantoms at Albany, 7:00
*Game 6: TBD, Albany at Phantoms (Wachovia Center)
*Game 7: TBD, Albany at Phantoms (Wachovia Center)

The Phantoms are 4-2-1 in seven games so far this season against Albany, with the eight-game series set to wrap up tomorrow when the teams meet at the Wachovia Spectrum. The Phantoms have faced Albany just once before in the postseason, defeating the River Rats four games to two in the 1998 Western Conference Finals en route to their first Calder Cup championship.
