Upcoming
Fresh off their thrilling victory in front of over 16,000 fans in Philadelphia, the Phantoms now hit the road for three away games this week. Adirondack travels to Hartford, Wilkes-Barre and Bridgeport in their swing of games right before the league All-Star Break which begins on Monday. The Phantoms next home game is not until Valentine's Day on Friday, February 14 against the Portland Pirates.
Entering the week, the Phantoms are in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race and need every road-point they can grab as they try to catch the 8th place Hershey Bears.
Adirondack has 32 games remaining in the 2013-14 regular season as they make their second-half playoff push. But only 12 of those games will be in Glens Falls as the team will now balance out their schedule following a majority of home dates in the first half of the season.

Philly Fun!
Over 16,000 fans attended the Saturday afternoon game at Wells Fargo Center cheering the Phantoms to a 4-1 victory over the Hershey Bears. Two bus-loads traveled down from Glens Falls on our Phan-Buses and several others joined us from the North Country who drove down on their own. That's some terrific loyalty from our incredible fans. Season ticket holders who exchanged their Flex tickets were afforded some awesome VIP treatment and watched the game from a luxury-suite at the arena! The game offered the players the rare opportunity to play in an NHL-like environment and allowed them the chance to thrive in front of a big crowd in a large venue.

Philadelphia History
The Adirondack Phantoms are now 3-2-0 all-time in their games in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Phantoms were members of the league for 13 seasons from 1996-2009 before moving to Glens Falls, NY where they are in their fifth season as the Adirondack Phantoms.

Packed The House!
Our fans arrived in droves for our big Pack The House Night last Friday. And "Pack The House" is exactly what we did. 4,929 were on-hand inside the 4,794-seat Glens Falls Civic Center for another sellout and Standing-Room-Only crowd. It is the third sellout of the season and also the second in the month of January for the Adirondack Phantoms. The game featured the seventh-largest crowd in team history and is the 12th sellout all-time. Big thanks to our Pack The House sponsors who helped make this happen by providing some great discount tickets; John Ray & Sons, Curtis Lumber, and UpgradeToComfort.com
Other sellouts for the Phantoms this season happened on January 18 for Dax's Big Birthday Bash (4,800 fans) and October 12 for Opening Night (5,031 fans).
January, 2014 became only the second time ever for the Adirondack Phantoms to reach sellout status twice in the same month and was the first time since the very first month of the team in October, 2009.

Thinking Pink!
The final total is in and we are truly humbled by your generosity and support. Our fans helped us raise over $11,000 on our big Pink in the Rink event on January 26 to benefit breast cancer treatment and research at C.R. Wood Cancer Center of Glens Falls Hospital. What an amazing accomplishment. Over $1,000 of that came from a bid for the Zack FitzGerald jersey in the postgame auction!

Last Week

Wednesday, Jan 29: Hartford Wolf Pack 5 - ADK Phantoms 2
Tye McGinn scored in the opening minute at Hartford but former Phantom Danny Syvret's power-play strike sparked a Wolf Pack surge. Rookie Danny Kristo scored a pair of goals to lead Hartford to the win. Trailing 3-2 early in the third period, the Phantoms were afforded a golden opportunity to tie the game after consecutive Hartford penalties led to 1:20 worth of 5-on-3 time. But the Phantoms were unable to capitalize and the Pack struck quickly after the key penalty-kill.

Friday, January 31: Hershey Bears 5 - ADK Phantoms 3
The Phantoms packed the house with 4,929 fans and almost thrilled the jammed crowd with a dramatic third-period comeback. Trailing 4-1 in the third period, Mark Alt closed the margin to two with 12 minutes remaining and then Bruno Gervais struck with a 5-on-3 with less than 5:00 left and Adirondack had 1:30 remaining of 5-on-4. But the Wolf Pack were able to hang on from there and added an empty-netter late to finish the victory.

Saturday, February 1: ADK Phantoms 4 - Hershey Bears 1
In front of 16,173 fans at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, the Phantoms raced out to a 2-0 lead in the opening seven minutes and pushed their way from that point to a 4-1 win in their weekend-series split against Hershey. Tyler Brown scored his first of the year on a picture-perfect snipe from the left circle in just his second game back since returning from injury. Tye McGinn scored after that on Kris Newbury's fine centering feed. And McGinn would assist on two others as Ben Holmstrom and Jason Akeson would both convert in the final period. Cal Heeter turned in a strong performance with 27 saves on 28 shots. Protecting only a 2-1 lead early in the second period, the Phantoms penalty-kill came through clutch with four consecutive successes in quick order against the Bears' power play.
Jason Akeson received a nice ovation from the Philadelphia crowd when it was announced he had broken the all-time Adirondack Phantoms goals record previously held by Denis Hamel.

25 Terrific Seasons
Glens Falls is celebrating its 25th season hosting an AHL team and in so doing now joins an elite group of just 9 other active markets who can make such a claim. It's a great hockey tradition with an old-school feel that began with the Adirondack Red Wings in 1979. In their 20-year tenure at the Glens Falls Civic Center through 1999, the Red Wings won four Calder Cups. The Adirondack Phantoms began play in Glens Falls in 2009-10 and are in their fifth season bringing exciting AHL action to the North Country.
