Phantoms defenseman Erik Gustafsson helped Team Sweden take Gold at the IIHF Tournament on Sunday with a 5-1 victory over Switzerland.
Gustafsson scored his first goal of the tournament during the first period to get Team Sweden back even at 1-1. He finished the game with over 22 minutes of ice-time (22:24) and was a plus 2.
Gustafsson played in all 10 games of the tournament for Sweden (10-0-0). He had two points (1g, 1a) while leading the team in total ice-time (23:59) and finishing with fellow defenseman Henrik Tallinder with a team-high plus 7.
Cal Heeter and Team USA took the Bronze as they defeated Finland in penalty shots 3-2. Heeter (top, far right) is seen with teammates after collecting their medals.
