The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they
have assigned 26 players to the Adirondack Phantoms
of the AHL according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Other players already on the Phantoms roster via
AHL contract include Zack Fitzgerald (D). Scott
Munroe (G) and Garrett Roe (F).
19 out of those 26 players had game-action with
the Phantoms last season while eight of the above
played with the Flyers.
Among the significant names on that list are young
talents Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn who
were teammates with the Philadelphia Flyers last
year and were also teammates on Team Canada at
the 2011 World Juniors Championships.
19 year old Sean Couturier scored 13 goals and
14 assists with Philadelphia in his rookie season
last year. He was the eighth overall selection
in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He became the second
youngest player to score a hat trick in an NHL
playoff game with his three-goal performance on
April 13, 2012 against Pittsburgh.
21 year old Brayden Schenn was the fifth overall
selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and also
excelled in his NHL rookie season scoring 12 goals
in 54 games. He began the season with Adirondack
and scored a hat trick on October 14, 2011 against
Bridgeport. His first NHL goal came on the league's
biggest stage at the NHL Winter Classic on January
2, 2012 against the New York Rangers.
Erik Gustafsson, Ben Holmstrom, Brandon Manning,
Zac Rinaldo, Eric Wellwood and Harry Zolnierczyk
all played with Philadelphia last season while
Danny Syvret has played with the Flyers prior
to last year.
Jason Akeson was Adirondack's top scorer last
year with 55 points including 14 goals and 41
assists in his rookie campaign. And Matthew Ford
racked up a career-high 29 goals last year including
19 with the Phantoms after his arrival via a trade
in early February.
