More Than Hockey! That's the new slogan for the Adirondack Phantoms for the upcoming 2012-13 season as officially announced by the team earlier today.

"More Than Hockey" is a double-reference which touches on the variety of entertainment aspects at Phantoms' home games while also emphasizing the importance of professional hockey for the entire
community.

Phantoms hockey at the Glens Falls Civic Center is family-friendly excitement and entertainment that delights thousands of area fans each year. It's More Than Hockey!

And the whole region benefits from having a team. "More Than Hockey" also is a follow-up to the "I'm In" campaign which the Phantoms have been marketing in conjunction with the city of Glens Falls addressing the positive impact of an AHL team for the region.

"Phantoms games are more than just a night of fast-paced, high-quality hockey," said Matt Valinski, Phantoms Director of Marketing and Game Operations. "It's about our mascot Dax, and kids having a great time, and promotions on the video-board. It's lots of other great things than make a night with the Phantoms terrific entertainment and so much more than just a hockey game."

Outside of the arena, the ripple effects of the Phantoms are easy to identify.

"The I'm In campaign with the city is a great reminder to all of us how important a professional hockey team is for the community. And the slogan 'More Than Hockey' carries forward with that idea," said
Chris Porreca, Executive Vice President of the Phantoms. "Downtown Glens Falls comes alive and is positively buzzing before and after every Phantoms home game. Having an AHL team is a huge benefit for area businesses and the local economy."

The Phantoms and the city of Glens Falls also are continuing their I'm In campaign with the goal of reaching 1,756 season ticket holders for the upcoming season. That amount of support is the tipping point to soundly demonstrate to the league and to other teams the true long-term viability of an AHL hockey team in this great market. It is all part of the Phantoms' mission to attract a new, full-time team for this great market. To date, the Phantoms have reached 1,463 season tickets and are getting closer by the day to accomplishing the important goal.

And now for the 2012-13 season, the team will continue to celebrate the importance of professional hockey in Glens Falls with their new slogan, "More Than Hockey!"

Opening Night is coming! The Adirondack Phantoms season opener will be Saturday, October 13 at the Glens Falls Civic Center featuring great retro-style red jerseys that will be auctioned to the fans following
the game.
