In a tribute to the beginning days of professional hockey in Glens Falls, The Adirondack Phantoms have unveiled the design for their Opening Night jerseys for the 2012-13 season presented by Bud Light.

The red jerseys with "Adirondack" spelled out in bold, capital letters diagonally across the chest will harken back to the great Adirondack Red Wings teams of the 1980s and 1990s that won four Calder Cups in the team's 20-year history in Glens Falls. The jerseys will also feature a black and orange Phantoms logo on the right shoulder while displaying the logo of the Phantoms' NHL parent club, the Philadelphia Flyers, on the right shoulder.

The Phantoms will wear these great Red Wings style jerseys for their Opening Night game on Saturday, October 13 at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The game-worn jerseys will be worn for one game only and then will be available to those in attendance via live auction immediately following the game to close out the Opening Night festivities.

This Red Wings style jersey will be a big hit with the fans and is directly reminiscent of the great hockey history of the Civic Center. It's a perfect blending of the old with the new to start off the upcoming Phantoms season in style.

"Last year on Opening Night, our fans loved how we spelled out ADIRONDACK across the front and we received a lot of positive feedback asking us to do that again" said Phantoms Executive Vice President Chris Porreca. "For this year, we are also incorporating the traditional colors of the former Adirondack Red Wings which we know our fans will really enjoy."

The Opening Night Red Wings style jersey is just the first of the alternate jerseys being designed for the upcoming season. Fans can expect a wide variety of creative looks for some of the upcoming special home games this season.
