Another Phantoms and Flyers prospect for the future has signed an amateur tryout contract (ATO) to join the team for the remainder of the 2011-12 season. Third-round pick from 2011 Nick Cousins will play with the Phantoms for the rest of this season and has also signed an entry level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Cousins has been the top goal scorer for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League for each of the past two seasons. This year, he had 35 goals and 53 assists for 88 points. He finished fifth in the league in points and sixth in assists. In 2010-11 he had 28 goals and 66 points.

The 18-year-old Cousins is a center from Belleville, Ontario and will wear #14 with the Phantoms. He was the 68th overall pick in the NHL entry draft in 2011 and checks in at 5'11" and 177 pounds. He was previously a second-round pick, 21st overall, of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

In 2010, Cousins represented his country on Team Canada at the Under-18 World Championship scoring four goals and four assist in seven games.

Cousins is familiar with many of his teammates on the Phantoms. He attended the Flyers' Prospects Camp last summer in Voorhees, NJ and also the team's rookie camp in September and also played in the Flyers Rookie Game against the Capitals Rookies at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The Phantoms have added three young prospects to ATO contracts in the past week; Derek Mathers, Campbell Elynuik, and Nick Cousins.
