The Adirondack Phantoms
have announced they have signed forward Rob Bordson
to an AHL contract, according to head coach Joe
Paterson. The University of Minnesota-Duluth product
returns to the Phantoms after leading the Trenton
Titans in scoring up to this point in the season.
Bordson will wear uniform #9 for Adirondack.
The hard-working Bordson played in 61 games in
his rookie season last year with Adirondack scoring
seven goals and 14 assists for 28 points. He also
played in 15 games with the Syracuse Crunch at
the beginning of the season scoring one goal and
two assists.
The 23-year-old currently paces the Trenton Titans
(ECHL) with 17 goals and 34 assists for 51 points.
While he had been playing with Adirondack's affiliate,
he was not on contract with the Phantoms. He was
on an ECHL contract with the Titans. In just 38
games in the ECHL this year, he is 8th in the
league in assists and 11th in points.
The Duluth native spent three weeks in the AHL
this season with the Rochester Americans on a
professional tryout contract from December 9-30
appearing in eight games. He was then sent back
to Trenton where he continued to pace the team's
scoring.
Bordson initially joined Adirondack in November
last year in a trade with Syracuse along with
defenseman Danny Syvret in exchange for Pat Maroon
and David Laliberte.
