The Phantoms have announced
that defenseman Oskars Bartulis has been assigned
to Adirondack, according to Philadelphia Flyers
General Manager Paul Holmgren. It was also announced
that defenseman Tyler Hostetter has been assigned
to Trenton of the ECHL.
Adirondack's roster currently stands at 28 players
heading into Saturday night's season opener at the
Glens Falls Civic Center against the Connecticut
Whale. This includes 17 forwards, eight defensemen
and three goaltenders.
Bartulis, 24, has appeared in game action with
the Phantoms in each of the past two seasons. In
14 total games for Adirondack, Bartulis has two
goals and three assists, and 16 penalty minutes.
Bartulis played in four games with Adirondack in
2010-11 in October as part of a conditioning stint.
He played in 13 games with the Flyers in 2010-11
while sidelined for part of the campaign with injury.
He has played in 153 career games with the Phantoms
since 2007-08 scoring five career AHL goals and
recorded 34 assists for 39 points.
During the past two seasons, Bartulis has played
in 66 games with the Philadelphia Flyers scoring
one goal and eight assists, and he played in seven
postseason games with the Flyers during their 2010
run to the Stanley Cup Finals. A native of Ogre,
Latvia, Bartulis has been a member of the Flyers
organization since Philadelphia selected him in
the third round, 91st overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry
Draft.
He has represented his home country of Latvia in
the World Juniors Championships and, more recently,
at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Tyler Hostetter goes to Trenton of the ECHL where
he joins recently loaned goaltender Brad Phillips.
Both were members of the Phantoms preseason roster
this year. Hostetter, 20, is a resident of Lititz,
Penn. and played in three games for Adirondack in
the final weekend of 2010-11. He comes to the Flyers
organization from the Erie Otters of the OHL.
