Several Adirondack Phantoms from last season and
this coming season will be taking part in the Philadelphia
Flyers Rookie Camp which begins Monday, September
12 at the team's practice facility in Voorhees,
New Jersey. The three day rookie camp lasts through
September 14
The three-day camp will consist of on-ice workouts
on September 12-14 at The Virtua Center Flyers Skate
Zone in Voorhees, NJ, all of which are free and
open to the public. The camp will conclude when
the Flyers host the Washington Capitals in a preseason
"Rookie Game" on Thursday, September 15
at 5 PM at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The camp, which will immediately precede the club's
main training camp that opens on September 17, will
involve several of the team's young prospects. Among
the 27 young talents taking part in the camp will
be Phantoms players Shane Harper, Tyler Hostetter,
Oliver Lauridsen, Luke Pither, Zac Rinaldo and Eric
Wellwood. They will be joined by other prospects
such as recently acquired center Brayden Schenn
and the eighth overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry
Draft, Sean Couturier.
Phantoms players will then get the opportunity to
play in multiple preseason games with the Philadelphia
Flyers beginning with the first exhibition contest
on Tuesday, September 20 at the Toronto Maple Leafs.
