The Adirondack Phantoms
announced today that they have signed 6-0, 198 lb
defenseman Mike Matczak to an Amateur Tryout (ATO)
for the rest of the 2010-2011 season. Matczak will
be wearing #2 during tonight’s game against
the Syracuse Crunch.
Matczak, 22 (4/6/88), recently completed a four-year
career at Yale University. This season with the
Bulldogs, he registered two goals and 14 points
in 36 games. He played in every game this season
with Yale as one of their top-blue liners.
The No.1 ranked Yale Bulldogs finished the season
with a record 28 victories and a 28-7-1 overall
record. Yale had their five-game winning streak
snapped by Minnesota Duluth in the final of the
2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey East
Regional, as they were defeated 5-3.
The Sewell, New Jersey native appeared in 114 career
games with the Bulldogs, recording eight goals and
31 assists for 39 points.
