Time Warner Cable to Televise Phantoms Games

January 12, 2011

The Adirondack Phantoms and Time Warner Cable have announced plans to televise four upcoming Phantoms games as part of their upcoming schedule. It is the first live, local AHL television package for Time Warner. All of the games will be on Time Warner Cable 3. Time Warner will also be televising the AHL All-Star Classic as well as the skills event from Hershey, Pennsylvania which will include Phantoms rookie defenseman Erik Gustafsson.

The schedule includes two broadcasts from the Glens Falls Civic Center and also two games against the Albany Devils in the Time Warner Cable Cup rivalry series. One of the home game broadcasts will be against the New York Rangers affiliate, the Connecticut Whale. The other home broadcast will be against the rival Devils.

The three-way television production partnership is an extension of already comprehensive relationships which include in-game promotions, advertising and sponsorship of the Time Warner Cable Cup.  In addition to local games, Time Warner Cable Sports continues to import AHL action from out of the area including the AHL All-Star Game on Monday, January 31st from Hershey, PA.

Rob Brooks, President of the Adirondack Phantoms, said, “We’re extremely proud of our relationship with Time Warner Cable and the support they have provided over the past two seasons.  The Time Warner Cable Cup is important to helping grow interest in hockey throughout the region and this opportunity gives us another vehicle to grow our brand and hockey in general.   American Hockey League action will be easily accessible to families, showcasing our fun and affordable entertainment.”

Time Warner Cable’s Area V.P. of Operations John Quigley concluded, “During the long winter months, many of our customers take great pleasure in enjoying the excitement of our great regional hockey teams.  Through our commitment to quality live and local sports programming, we’re making it even easier for viewers to catch all the action.”
