The Adirondack Phantoms have announced they have recalled goalie Brian Stewart
from the Greenville Road Warriors (SC) of the ECHL.
This is Stewart's second recall from Greenville
in less than a month and interestingly they have
both come while the team was in Hartford, CT. His
previous recall was on November 28.
The move comes as Michael Leighton concluded his
four game conditioning stint over the past two weekends.
Leighton went 1-3-0, with a goals against average
of 2.68 and a saves percentage of .918 in his stay
with Adirondack.
Stewart played three games with Greenville after
being sent down two weeks ago going 2-1-0 with a
2.68 goals against average and a .918 saves percentage.
This year with Adirondack he had gone 0-4-0, 4.73,
.846.
The Northern Michigan University product also appeared
in three games with the Phantoms late last season
following the conclusion of his NCAA career. Stewart,
25, is a 6'4" tall netminder from Burnaby,
BC.
The Phantoms two active goalies now are Nic Riopel
and Brian Stewart. Johan Backlund is continuing
to recover from a lower body injury he sustained
in a game on November 27 at Hershey.
The Phantoms are in action Sunday afternoon at
3:00 at the Connecticut Whale.
