The Adirondack Phantoms
have announced they have recalled goalie Brian Stewart
from the Greenville Road Warriors (SC) of the ECHL.
Stewart played three games with Greenville after
being sent down two weeks ago going 2-1-0 with a
2.68 goals against average and a .918 saves percentage.
This year with Adirondack he had gone 0-4-0, 4.73,
.846.
The Northern Michigan University product also appeared
in three games with the Phantoms late last season
following the conclusion of his NCAA career. Stewart,
25, is a 6'4" tall netminder from Burnaby,
BC.
The roster move comes one day after Phantoms goalie
Johan Backlund left Saturday night's game at Hershey
with a lower body injury.
Adirondack concludes their tough stretch of four
games in five nights with a Sunday evening encounter
at the Connecticut Whale at 5pm. The game against
the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers is also
game two of a five game road swing for the Phantoms.
Adirondack's next home is Saturday, December 11
against the Portland Pirates featuring the team's
first annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans get to bring
their teddy bear donations for the Salvation Army
to the game and throw them on the ice after the
Phantoms score their first goal.
