4th Place in the East Division, Eastern Conference

Center where Adirondack made a remarkable comeback
in the third period on a power play goal by Denis
Hamel with 1:55 remaining to tie the score at 3-3
and then the game-winner on the power play in overtime
to break Adirondack’s 10-game winless streak.
Forwards Marc-Antoine Pouliot and Johan Harju were
recalled to the Tampa Bay Lightning on November
12 and both have seen limited ice-time. Paul Szczechura
leads Norfolk in both goals (8) and total points
(15) while Blair Jones is the second leading scorer

Week 6 Game Results
November 11, 2010 – Toronto 5 @ Adirondack
1
Thursday night marked the first game of John Paddock’s
tenure as interim head coach of the Phantoms. Adirondack
struck first on a goal by Stefan Legein, his second
of the season while Toronto received goals from
Mike Zigomanis, Alex Foster, Justin Hodgman, Joey
Crabb and Greg Scott. Johan Backlund started in
net making 16 saves while Jussi Rynnas won his second
game of the season stopping 26 Adirondack shots.
Adirondack will travel to Toronto on March 19 to
conclude the season series.
November 12, 2010 – Norfolk 3 @ Adirondack
4 OT
Veteran forward Denis Hamel’s fourth goal
of the season on the power play with 1:55 remaining
in the 3rd period tied the score at 3-3. After Eric
Wellwood drew a tripping minor in overtime by Paul
Szczechura, Denis Hamel scored the game-winner from
the right faceoff dot to give the Phantoms a dramatic
4-3 come from behind victory in OT. The line of
Ben Holmstrom-Mike Testwuide-Jonathon Kalinski was
sensational all night drawing scoring chances every
time they seemed to step on the ice. Ben Holmstrom
scored his third of the season while Eric Wellwood
scored his first since returning from his call up
in Philadelphia. It was the Phantoms first overtime
victory of the year and allowed the team to explode
off the bench to break the winless streak after
Hamel’s game-winner in front of 3,414.
November 13, 2010 – Abbotsford 4 @ Adirondack
2
In front of more than 4,000, Adirondack almost
had yet another dramatic third period comeback.
Down 3-1, Adirondack cut the deficit to one after
defenseman Erik Gustafsson scored his second goal
of the season on the power play with less than 9
minutes remaining. The Phantoms then had a five
on three that lasted for only 15 seconds due to
Eric Wellwood taking a slashing penalty and were
not able to tie the score. Adirondack had chances
following the power play but Abbotsford goalie Leland
Irving withstood the charge to preserve the win
and the Heat sealed the victory with an empty-net
goal with 8.9 seconds left. Johan Backlund made
16 saves before being pulled in favor of Northern
Michigan University goaltender Brian Stewart whom
played outstanding in relief.
Phantoms Reebok/AHL Player of the Week
Nomination: (Week 6)
#17 -Denis Hamel- LW-3 GP (3 goals, 0 assists)
Denis Hamel continued his tear since joining Adirondack
on November 1. After scoring 3 goals in his first
two games, Hamel added 3 more goals this past week,
2 of which were scored on the power play including
the game-winner in overtime on Friday night versus
the Norfolk Admirals to end Adirondack’s winless
streak. The Lachute, PQ native was set up in the
right circle when he blistered a shot top shelf
past Admiral Goaltender Cedric Desjardins.
