Way to Go Wellwood!
20-year-old rookie Eric Wellwood has been returned to the Adirondack Phantoms after playing in three NHL games last week with the Philadelphia Flyers. Wellwood made his NHL debut on Monday, November1 against the Carolina Hurricanes and appeared in three games with Philadelphia. On Saturday, November 6 he assisted on the game-winning goal in the 3rd period scored by former Phantoms Andreas Nodl against the New York Islanders. It was his first NHL point. Wellwood. The former Windsor Spitfire (OHL) standout has three goals and four points in 11 games with Adirondack.

Phantoms Home for Three Games in Three Nights
Thursday, November 11- 7:00 pm – Glens Falls Civic Center – Glens Falls, NY
vs. Toronto Marlies (4-6-0-2, 10 pts)
7th Place in North Division, Western Conference
This will be the first of two meetings between the Phantoms and Marlies. Last season the Marlies, the Toronto Maple Leafs affiliate, split the season series with Adirondack 1-1. Nazem Kadri leads Toronto in both goals (5) and total points (11) in 12 games this season. Goaltender James Reimer is 4-4-0 with one shutout while backup Jussi Rynnas has played in five games registering a 0-3 record with a 2.56 GAA this season.
Friday, November 12 - 7:30 pm – Glens Falls Civic Center – Glens Falls, NY
vs. Norfolk Admirals (6-3-1-1, 14 pts)
Tied-3rd Place in the East Division, Eastern Conference
This is the first of four meetings between the Admirals and Phantoms. Last season, these teams met eight times with the Phantoms going 4-3-1-0 against the Admirals. This season, Johan Harju leads Norfolk in goals scored (6) while Marc-Antoine Pouliot leads the team in total points with 18 (4 goals, 14 assists). In eleven games, goaltenders Cedrick Desjardins and Dustin Tokarski have split the time in net. The Admirals are 2-0-1-0 when leading after 2 periods.

vs. Abbotsford Heat (7-6-0-1, 15 pts)
Tied-3rd Place in the North Division, Western Conference
This is the first ever meeting between the Heat and Phantoms. They will play each other four times this season, twice in Glens Falls and twice in Abbotsford. Matt Keith leads the Heat in goals (7) while FW’s Cam Cunning, Carter Bancks and Gaelan Patterson lead the team in total points (9). Leland Irving has played the majority of the games in net for the Heat with a record of 6-3-0-1 and a 2.48 GAA. Abbotsford is 22nd in the league on the power play only converting 13% of the time and are 24th in the league on the penalty kill.

November 5, 2010 – Adirondack 2 @ Portland 5
AHL Veteran Denis Hamel scored his 1st goal of the season in his first game as a Phantom on a breakaway pass from Marc-Andre Bourdon. David Laliberte, who had 18 goals in 66 games last season, scored his 2nd of the season on assists to Gustafsson and Lehtivuori. Johan Backlund, playing in his tenth game of the year made 14 saves. Luke Adam who led the Pirates in scoring coming into the game, added another goal in the third period.
November 6, 2010 – Adirondack 3 @ Binghamton 7
In his return to Binghamton, Denis Hamel scored two more goals while UMass-Lowell product, Ben Holmstrom poked home his 2nd goal of the season. Brian Stewart, starting his third game of the year, made 29 saves in the loss. Justin Keller scored twice and Corey Locke added a goal and an assist to his team leading 15 pts for Binghamton. Adirondack outshot the Senators 40-36 and went 2 for 6 on the power play.

After just three practices before hitting the road with the Phantoms, the Lachute, PQ native scored in his opening game as a Phantom in Portland on Friday night and then contributed two more goals in his Homecoming game in Binghamton on Saturday. The three-time AHL All-Star and 2008 AHL Man of the Year has scored 290 goals in 790 AHL games in 10 seasons with the Binghamton Senators and Rochester Americans. In addition, Hamel has 192 games of NHL experience scoring 19 goals with Buffalo, Ottawa, Atlanta and Philadelphia.
