Eric Wellwood called up to Philadelphia
The Flyers 6th Round Pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft has been called up to Philadelphia after recording 3 goals and 1 assist in 11 games with the Phantoms this season. Eric Wellwood, the rookie winger from Windsor, Ontario scored his first pro goal, which was the game-winner in a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Syracuse Crunch on October 15. Last season, Wellwood scored 31 goals and 37 assists with the back-to-back Memorial Cup champion Windsor Spitfires of the OHL.
He is the younger brother of NHL’er Kyle Wellwood who has played in 338 NHL games with Toronto and Vancouver.
The Flyers also announced that Oskars Bartulis will return to the NHL after completing his conditioning stint with the Phantoms where he recorded one assist in four games.
Phantoms Add AHL All-Star Denis Hamel
The Adirondack Phantoms have announced they have signed veteran winger Denis Hamel to a Professional Tryout (PTO). The three-time AHL All-Star and 2008 AHL Man of the Year has scored 290 goals in 790 AHL games in 10 seasons with the Binghamton Senators and Rochester Americans.
Hamel, a sixth round pick of the St. Louis Blues in 1995, has 192 games of NHL experience scoring 19 goals with Buffalo, Ottawa, Atlanta and Philadelphia. He was the captain of the Binghamton Senators last season and also was named captain for the Canadian squad for the 2008 All-Star Classic held in Binghamton.
Flyers Assistant General Manager John Paddock was Hamel’s head coach while leading the Binghamton Senators in 2007-08.

Phantoms Two-Game Road Trip

1st Place in Atlantic Division, Eastern Conference
This will be the first of two meetings this season between the Phantoms and Pirates. Last season the Pirates, the Buffalo Sabres affiliate, took the season series 2-0 but both games were decided by one goal. In ten games this season, Mark Mancari leads the Pirates in goals (7) and total points (15). Goaltender Jhonas Enroth has played in seven of the ten games recording a 3.51 GAA while backup David Leggio is 4-0 with a 2.42 GAA this season.

This will be the second of eight meetings between the Senators and Phantoms. Back on October 8 which was Opening Night in Binghamton, Johan Backlund was stellar turning aside 44 of 49 shots for the Phantoms while Patrick Maroon scored the lone goal. Bobby Butler currently leads Binghamton in goals (5) while Corey Locke leads the team in total points (10).

David Laliberte scored his first goal of the season on a shot from the point by Oskars Bartulis that was deflected by Rinaldo and again by Laliberte past Thiessen for the Phantoms lone goal. Last season the St. Jean-Sur-Richelie, Quebec native recorded 18 goals and 28 assists in 66 games with the Phantoms and had two goals and one assist in eleven games with the Flyers.
October 30, 2010 – Rochester 5 @ Adirondack 3
Andrew Rowe, the rookie out of Michigan State, scored his third and fourth goals of the season, both on the power play while Jonathon Kalinski contributed with a power play goal of his own in the second period to give the Phantoms a 3-2 lead. Kalinski now leads the team in total points (7) while Andrew Rowe leads the team in goals (4). Colby Robak recorded both the tying and game-winning goals for Rochester in the second meeting of the season between the Amerks and Phantoms.

Andrew Rowe recorded his third and fourth goals of the season on Saturday night on the power play vs. Rochester. The Muskegon, Michigan native scored 17 goals and 11 assists in 38 games in his senior year with the Michigan State.

The sixth round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft for the Philadelphia Flyers leads the Phantoms in total points (7) and is tied for third on the team with 3 goals. Last season the Bonnyville, Alberta native recorded 10 goals and 18 assists in 69 games with the Phantoms and spent time with in the NHL.
