| GLENS FALLS, NY –
The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of
the Philadelphia Flyers, are excited to present
the schedule
for the 2010-11 season presented by Bud Light. The
American Hockey League today released 2010-11 regular-season
schedules for its 30 member clubs. The Phantoms’
80-game campaign will begin on Friday, October 8th
in Binghamton versus the Senators.
A pair of division rivals will invade the Glens
Falls Civic Center for the Phantoms’ Opening
Weekend. The Phantoms host the Syracuse Crunch on
Friday, October 15th followed by the first clash
with the Albany Devils on Saturday. October 16th.
Featured games on tap include the first visit by
the AHL’s newest entry, the Charlotte Checkers,
on Friday, October 22nd, a pair of games during
Thanksgiving week and three straight games versus
Albany in March.
The 2010-11 season will feature a number of attractive
giveaways and promotions, including silly bands
(October 30), mini-sticks (November 13), two different
t-shirt giveaways (December 18 and February 19)
and the very popular youth hockey jersey night on
February 26th.
“This is a very good schedule for both our
fans and our players,” said Mike Thompson,
Vice President of Business Operations for the Adirondack
Phantoms. “The quantity of weekend dates and
the high number of impressive promotions worked
out perfectly for us. We are extremely pleased with
the end result and know our fans will be too.”
Among their 40 road games are two alternative venue
dates including a December 5th encounter with the
Albany Devils in Atlantic City, NJ at Boardwalk
Hall and a February 25th tilt against Hamilton at
the Bell Centre in Montreal marking the second straight
season the Phantoms will take on the Bulldogs at
the Montreal Canadiens home arena.
Other highlights of the 2010-11 schedule include
a pair of home ice encounters against the New York
Rangers affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, and a
3000 mile trek to face the Abbotsford Heat in British
Columbia during the weekend of January 7th and 8th.
The Phantoms make their second annual visit to
Philadelphia as they play the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
Penguins on January 21st at the Wells Fargo Center.
For the Phantoms game in Philadelphia, season ticket
holders can use their ticket in Philly, redeem it
for any regular season home game or a first round
playoff game at the Glens Falls Civic Center, or
receive a $20 credit for Phantoms merchandise.
Of Adirondack’s 39 games at the Glens Falls
Civic Center, 30 will take place on weekend dates
including Fridays (14), Saturdays (13) and Sundays
(3).
In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve
as the top development league for all 30 National
Hockey League teams. More than 85 percent of today’s
NHL players are American Hockey League graduates,
and for the ninth year in a row, more than 6 million
fans attended AHL games across North America in
2009-10.
Adirondack Phantoms ticket packages are on sale
