2009-10: Patrolled the blue-line for the Houston Aeros, the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. In his first full professional season scored 2 goals and 6 assists while accumulating 111 penalty minutes in 58 games.
Career: Was first Colorado native to serve as captain of the University of Denver Pioneers in his senior season. Led the Pioneers in hits (180) and was second in blocked shots (55). Was named the WCHA Student-Athlete of the Year. Older brother of Mike Testwuide formerly with Denver’s top rival, Colorado College. J.P. and Mike were teammates in juniors in 2004-05 with the Waterloo (Iowa) Black Hawks of the USHL.
