2010-11: This season Riopel attended the 2010 training camps of the Philadelphia Flyers and Adirondack Phantoms. He was assigned to the Flyers' ECHL affiliate in Greenville where he won ECHL Goalie of the Week for week of 10/25/10 - 10/31/10 with a 2-0-0 record, 1.50 GAA, and .944 save percentage. This past Saturday he earned his first pro shutout with 32 saves vs. the Florida Everblades. He is 6-2-1, 2.65, .918 with the Greenville Road Warriors this season.
2009-10: Began year with Phantoms backing up Johan Backlund. Started Opening Night on October 3, 2009 in his pro debut. First pro win November 14, 2009 in a 25 save performance allowing 2 goals against Bridgeport. 10 starts with Phantoms going 4-6-0, 3.35, .893. Loaned back to his Junior team December 17, 2009 for more playing time. Went 19-5-0, 2.06, .918 with Moncton.
Career: Had dazzling and hardware-filled season in 2008-09 earning QMJHL MVP (Michel Briere Memorial Trophy) and had the lowest goals-against average (2.01) to earn the Jacques Plante Memorial Trophy setting a new GAA record in the “Q” in the process. Went an amazing 43-11-4 with a .930 saves percentage in 2008-09. Also posted solid seasons with Moncton in 2007-08 and 2006-07.
