Defenseman Jesper Pettersson Reassigned to Reading Royals

Phantoms Return to PPL Center This Saturday, Sunday

Lehigh Valley, Pa. – The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have reassigned defenseman Jesper Pettersson from Lehigh Valley to the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

A 22-year-old blueliner from Stockholm, Sweden, Pettersson is in his third professional season and has tallied four goals, 16 assists and 20 total points in 50 games with the Royals this season. In 93 career outings with Reading, the 5’9″, 190-pound defender has recorded eight goals, 32 assists, 40 points and 54 penalty minutes.

A seventh-round selection (#198 overall) by Philadelphia in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Pettersson has also compiled three goals, seven assists and 10 points across 75 career games with Lehigh Valley.

The Phantoms return to action for a pair of games at PPL Center this weekend. First, on Saturday, March 25, the rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins return to downtown Allentown for a 7:05 p.m. showdown. Saturday’s game features a meLVin Garden Gnome Giveaway FREE to the first 2,500 kids 14 and under presented by Capital BlueCross and Service Electric Cable TV & Communications. Then, on Sunday, March 26, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers invade PPL Center for a 5:05 p.m. clash. Enjoy two games for the price of one on Sunday as the annual Guns N’ Hoses game (Lehigh Valley Police vs. Lehigh Valley Firefighters) immediately follows the Phantoms tilt with the Sound Tigers.
