Nick Cousins has scored in back-to-back games.

Kris Newbury arrives for his first official game in a Phantoms jersey tonight. The veteran center was with Adirondack during training camp and played in both preseason games before his recall to Philadelphia.
This will be Newbury's 600th career gamein the AHL. He has 142 goals, 297 assists for 439 points and 1332 penalty minutes in his AHL career that includes stays with Hartford/CT, Grand Rapids and Toronto/St. John's. He also has scored 4-5-9 in 75 career NHL games.

Newbury had a hat trick with Connecticut against Adirondack on Opening Night two seasons ago. Newbury gave the visiting Whale a 3-1 lead on October 13, 2011 but the Phantoms would score the next five straight for a 6-3 win.

About the Admirals: 4 out of 6 games for Norfolk have gone to the shootout. The Admirals are 2-2 in shootouts.

20-year-old rookie goalie John Gibson (1-1-2, 1.88, .938) is off to an impressive start in his pro career. The second-round choice of the Ducks in 2011 led Team USA to a gold medal last January in the World Juniors Championships and won tournament MVP honors.

Norfolk won the Calder Cup in 2011 that included an historic and record-breaking 28-game win streak to conclude the regular season which broke the old record of 17 consecutive wins set by the Philadelphia Phantoms in 2004-05. That was when they were affiliated with Tampa Bay.

This is the 25th season of Admirals hockey at Norfolk Scope Arena. The Hampton Roads Admirals began play in the ECHL in 1989-90. The Norfolk Admirals joined the AHL in 2000-01 and are in their 14th season in the league.

25 Terrific Seasons

Glens Falls is celebrating its 25th season hosting an AHL team and in so doing now joins an elite group of only 12 other cities who can make such a claim. It's a great hockey tradition with an old-school feel that began with the Adirondack Red Wings in 1979 who won four Calder Cups in their 20-year run at the GFCC. The Adirondack Phantoms began play in Glens Falls in 2009-2010 and are beginning their fifth season.
